With Terry Ottaway running Thursday’s event, Chris Burns took advantage in the 18-39 league by winning with a fine 22:37, a record time so far in that category. Geoff Watson is Mr Consistency and still lying in second place with 101 points to Terry’s 120, with Simon Brooke (who slashed his best time by over a minute) only two points behind at 99 and not much distance between 4-6th places. Who is going to make the podium in this category? Can new entrant Ian Hodgson continue progressing with his fine 23:48 next week?

Apart from the Battle of the Vets as mentioned in the main report, the 40-55 league is still looking tight at the top. Mike Wyngard is splitting the Ridden brothers (great time from Mark this week), with Richard Taylor overtaking the injured Robbie Rimmington.

Nobody competed in the 56+ league, so hot favourite Nick Jobson retains his lead. Sandy Cheung made a welcome return to the Ladies’ league after a training camp in Spain, which obviously made a big difference since she took nearly a minute-and-a-half off her PB on the course. Well done on getting below the 30-mark!
